Jimmy Hackett was an outgoing,well mannered kid who will be missed by all. Jimmy led his team, Championship Sports to a Division II AAU National Championships 13 years ago. His warm smile and outgoing personality and competitive spirit brought joy to all of us that knew him. Our hearts go out to Jimmy and his family.
Jimmy Hackett, 26, of Downingtown, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at home.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of James L. Hackett Sr. and Patricia Collier Hackett.
After graduating from West Chester East High School in 2003, he attended Lackawanna Junior College and West Chester University.
He had a passion for basketball and his family. He had a special place in his heart for children.
Jimmy is survived by his mother, Patricia Hackett of Downingtown; father, James L. Hackett Sr., of Lancaster; maternal grandmother, Margaret Jackson of Parkesburg; paternal grandparents, the Rev. Walter and Jessie Hackett of Philadelphia; and a host of cousins, aunts and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 21, at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 1 Hagerty Blvd., West Chester.
His viewing will begin at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
